In the local language, Cumen means a spearhead. The motif is closely related with the tradition and ritual of East Nusa Tenggara society. The fabric is usually worn during the harvest celebration as well as during the buffalo slaughter ritual. In the past, when ancestors returned from war and celebrated their victory, the survivors wore this fabric.Today, this fabric is worn at Thanksgiving events.
